Our very own Baylee Mitchell heard God’s call at the age of 8 and now, at 19 years old, she is serving full-time in Thailand.

“I am 19 years old. I feel called to Mae Sai, which is the most northern part of Thailand that borders Burma, modern-day Myanmar. I am partnering with a ministry called Victory International and will be teaching English at their new English center and helping to pioneer the children’s program for their church. I will also be helping in their vision as they pioneer a church for the Burmese. I will be there for the next 5 years possibly more. My goal is to raise $1000 monthly but any one-time donations are welcomed. My other major needs would be a prayer for wisdom as I prepare and for perseverance as I learn to speak Thai fluently.”

Update from Baylee: August 2026

สวัสดีค่ะ! Hello from America!

Man, I can’t believe it’s already been three months since I arrived in the States. Time truly flies when you’re having fun! I am both excited to begin serving with YWAM Chiang Mai and a little nervous about all the unknowns ahead. Thank you for all your love, support, and encouragement. I am so excited to see the amazing things God is going to do in this next season.

As I always do, I want to begin by expressing my gratitude, love, and appreciation for each of you because I would not be where I am today without your prayers, encouragement, and support. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.

Urgent Prayer Request

My visa has been causing a lot of unexpected stress and complications, so I would greatly appreciate your prayers. I was able to receive approval for my visa, but I had to cancel my application and reapply after replacing my passport, which made my original visa invalid because the passport numbers no longer matched. I am praying that my new visa will be approved before August 8th, as that is the day I travel back to Thailand.

Praise Report

My sister’s surgery was a success! The doctors were able to identify the problem and successfully perform the ablation. This means Rian will, Lord willing, be able to enjoy college without having to worry about her heart. I am so excited for her! She gets to room with her best friend and continue pursuing the purpose God has for her. She officially moves to Utah on August 16th, I believe.

As for college, I was able to meet with a counselor who helped me create a plan for completing my associates degree. She also connected me with resources that will help me become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), as well as, continuing toward earning my bachelors. This semester, I am only taking one class because I don’t yet know what my YWAM schedule and workload will look like. I am continuing to seek the Lord’s wisdom and guidance while trusting in His perfect timing.

*Pray for peace, wisdom, and strength for my mom as she begins this new school year as the principal.
*Pray for Ember to continue to thrive in her new home.
*Pray for my sister to remain healthy and to have an amazing move-in day, free from anxiety, with a smooth transition into college life.
*Pray for God’s favor, protection, and safety as I travel back to Thailand.
*Pray for wisdom, discernment, and clear direction as I begin this new season with YWAM Chiang Mai and continue seeking God’s will for the future.
*Pray that I would connect well with the YWAM Chiang Mai community, build strong relationships and lifelong friendships, and be a blessing to the YWAM family.
*Pray that my visa will be approved before I leave the United States, that there will be no further complications, and that immigration will go smoothly when I return to Thailand
*Pray for the ongoing conflict in Myanmar and for the families who continue to be affected.
*Pray for Victory and the organization I previously served with as they launch their new school. Pray that God would provide wisdom, resources, staff, and abundant blessings over this new season.
*Pray that I would continue growing deeper in my relationship with Christ, trust Him fully, and find joy in every season He leads me through.
*Pray for the bathroom project at Happy Homes—that God would provide the finances needed so construction can begin.
